Sydney Town Hall

Sydney Town Hall is a monumental civic building in the heart of Sydney, stunning in its Victorian architecture in the style of the Second French Empire.

Its richly decorated sandstone facade, adorned with lion and urn motifs and elements inspired by Australian flora and fauna, makes it one of the most ornate late 19th century civic buildings in Australia.

Interestingly, the building stands on the site of Sydney's first official European cemetery, and remains of graves are still being unearthed within its confines.
