Description
Plock's Tumskie Hill is the historical heart of the city with a rich past dating back to the Middle Ages.
The hill is home to the Gothic Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the five oldest cathedrals in Poland and the burial place of two Polish rulers, Władysław Herman and Bolesław Krzywousty.
The hill offers a picturesque panorama of the Vistula River and the surrounding area, and a stroll through the well-maintained alleys allows one to admire the architectural diversity from Romanesque to Gothic styles. History buffs will appreciate a copy of the famous Plock Doors and the remains of the medieval defensive walls.
