Description
Vaxholm Fortress is a historic fortification located on the island of Vaxholmen in the Stockholm archipelago. Built on the orders of King Gustav Vasa in 1548, it played a key role in defending Stockholm from attacks from the sea.
Today the fortress houses a museum showcasing 500 years of the archipelago's defense history. Visitors can admire chronologically organized displays and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding islands.
For the adventurous, an exciting escape room is available, as well as the opportunity to take part in a RIB boat cruise, starting at the fortress' jetty.
