Description
The Wat Tham Suea Staircase is an extraordinary challenge for adventurers in Thailand. 1,260 steps lead to the top of the mountain where a golden Buddha statue awaits and a breathtaking 360-degree view of Krabi, the Andaman Sea and surrounding islands.
The climb is demanding, but the satisfaction of reaching the top - priceless. Some of the steps are more than 30 cm high, so it's a good idea to bring comfortable shoes and plenty of water.
The site also has archaeological significance - ancient artifacts and human skeletons have been found in the surrounding caves. The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon, when you can admire the area bathed in orange and red colors.
