Description
National Trust - Winchester City Mill is the oldest operating watermill in Britain, with a history dating back more than a thousand years. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and the current building dates back to the 13th century.
After a full restoration, the mill produces about 20 tons of wholemeal flour a year. On weekends you can watch flour milling demonstrations that bring history to life before your eyes.
From the observation deck, you can view the Itchen River and look out for otters through infrared cameras. It's a fascinating trip back in time for the whole family!
