Description
National Trust - Polesden Lacey is a unique Edwardian estate located in the picturesque county of Surrey. Remodeled in 1906 by Margaret Greville, a famous Edwardian housekeeper, this historic home conceals an impressive collection of paintings, furniture, china and silver.
Polesden Lacey's gardens delight with rose beds, herbaceous borders, a lavender garden and an orchard. A curiosity is the 425-square-meter grassy terrace that dates back to 1761.
The site has royal connections - the future King George VI and Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, spent part of their honeymoon here in 1923. For children, there is a natural playground made of wood from the estate.
