Description
Durdle Door is a spectacular natural limestone arch on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. This impressive rock formation, about 60 meters high, was formed about 10,000 years ago when the sea broke through the Portland limestone.
Beneath the cliffs stretches a picturesque rocky beach, ideal for swimming, picnicking and exploring. Note that the beach has no lifeguards, and the descent is quite steep.
The place is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. There are also other attractions nearby, such as Lulworth Cove and Man O'War beach, which complete the experience of this part of the English coast.
