Description
Cueva de los Verdes | CACT is a fascinating cave in Lanzarote, formed about 5,000 years ago as a result of the eruption of the La Corona volcano.
This 7-kilometer-long lava tunnel impresses with spectacular geological formations, stalactites and stalagmites in colors ranging from red to white.
In the 16th and 17th centuries, the cave served as a refuge for locals from pirate attacks. Today it is renowned for its exceptional acoustics - the concert hall can accommodate up to 500 people, and regular live concerts take advantage of the natural porosity of the rocks for a unique sound.
