Ascent trail to Holy Trinity Monastery

Ascent trail to Holy Trinity Monastery is a scenic stone trail leading through the valley between the rocks of Holy Trinity and Alyssos. The 2.22-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 470 meters offers breathtaking views of the Meteora region.

The trail begins at the Byzantine church in Kalampaka and ends at the road next to the Holy Trinity Monastery. The best times of year to hike are spring and autumn, when the weather is milder.

Be sure to have proper footwear, headgear and a supply of water - especially in summer. This is a moderately challenging route, but the views of the monasteries perched on the rocky peaks are worth the effort!
