Description
Arches Severiane on the Palatine is an impressive example of Roman engineering that was built between the 1st and 4th centuries AD. This double arch structure supported the expansion of the imperial residence on the Palatine Hill.
The upper part of the complex offers extraordinary views of ancient and modern Rome, including Circus Maximus and the Aventine Hill. There is a particularly magical atmosphere here during sunset, when the play of light and shadows highlights the charm of this historic site.
It is a fascinating testament to the craftsmanship of Roman engineers and architects.
