Amphitheatre Salona

The Salona Amphitheatre is a fascinating monument from the 2nd century AD that will take you back to the days of ancient Rome.

This elliptical structure measuring 125 by 100 meters could accommodate as many as 17,000 spectators! Here took place not only gladiatorial fights, but also naval battles - the arena could be filled with water.
