Description
Allacher Lohe is a unique nature reserve in the northwestern part of Munich, which is a remnant of the ancient forests that covered the entire gravel plain of the city.
It is a true oasis of greenery in the midst of urban development, offering wide, gravel paths accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. The area is famous for its rich flora and fauna - as many as 400 plant species grow here, 25 of which are endangered.
The artificial lake, known as the 'Dog Lake,' is a picturesque feature of the landscape, although swimming is prohibited to protect the shoreline and amphibians.
