Al Jahili Fort

Al Jahili Fort is an impressive 19th century fortress built in 1891 by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.

Made of traditional materials such as mud bricks and stones, this unique building impresses with its Arabic architecture with thick walls and strategically placed watchtowers.

The fort has undergone significant renovations that have preserved its original structure while adding modern amenities. It is now home to fascinating cultural and historical exhibitions, including a permanent exhibit dedicated to Wilfred Thesiger.
