Description
Planty is a charming park surrounding Krakow's Old Town, created on the site of the former defensive walls. This 4-kilometer-long green ring is divided into eight differently styled gardens, where you can admire monuments, fountains and historic architectural elements.
It's the perfect place to take an hour-long stroll among the trees and flowers, with numerous benches inviting you to relax. The planty hides many historical surprises - fragments of medieval fortifications, a neo-Gothic seminary or a 17th-century bishop's palace.
The park is a favorite spot for students, strollers and history buffs, offering shade on hot days and picturesque views at any time of the year.

Aviva Jewela week agoSuch a lovely park to walk around, especially on a hot day - plenty of shade to cover from the sun. There was a Summer Solstice festival going on when we were there, with free flower-crown-making stations dotted throughout the park. A fabulous place for a stroll or a little break to people watch.
Monika Czecha month agoPlanty Park is one of my favorite places in Kraków. I love walking its winding paths, which form a green belt around the Old Town where the medieval city walls once stood. Today, instead of stone fortifications, there’s a beautiful park filled with tall trees, benches, and quiet corners perfect for reflection. What makes it truly special is how it changes with the seasons—lush and fragrant in spring, cool and shady in summer, golden and crisp in autumn, and peaceful under a dusting of snow in winter. No matter the time of year, a walk through Planty always offers a unique blend of nature and history.
Nick Chapman3 months agoPlanty is classed as a park and is excellent for walking. It is a circular walk all the way around the Old Town, and is about 3.5km in total. It follows the route of the old medieval walls. It is almost totally flat all the way around and the walking surface is excellent. There are seats to sit on all the way around and the lighting at night is very good. Can be rather slippery in winter if there's snow on the ground. In the autumn, it is a great place to collect conkers. I love Planty. It is my favourite place to walk.Nearby
