Description

Hellabrunn Zoo is the world's first geozoo, where animals are organized by continents, not species. On 40 hectares you can take a fascinating journey around the world - from the Arctic to Africa!

The zoo is famous for breeding endangered species and natural enclosures, where animals live in conditions similar to their natural habitats.

Don't miss the historic elephant pavilion, bat cave, jungle world and mill village. For children, there are two playgrounds and a special Hellabrunn Kinderland zone.

avatarPichapim Patamasatayasonthia week agoOne of the most beautiful zoos I’ve ever visited. Plenty of trees and shades. Variety of animals grouping together while it is quite close and open to see them. They have pretty good restaurants with quality food. Also have a few playgrounds that are super nice! I came here during summer time and it is perfect weather.
avatarDeana month agoBeautiful well maintained zoo in a natuaral setting. Lots of trees and shade. The main reason for stopping by was the polar bears. They are my favorite. I was i had been when it was colder and perhaps they would have been more active. As it was, they were napping. Silly old bears. They also had a baby elephant and lots of the regular animals I would expect at a proper zoo. Staff was friendly and helpful.
avatarLei Behr4 months agoThe best zoo I've ever visited so far. Hellabrunn is incredibly spacious and offers a lot to discover during an outing. There’s a good variety of animals to see and the enclosures are designed to be close to nature. A particular highlight was the huge aquarium - which was an unexpected treat. The zoo is a paradise for families: there are several playgrounds everywhere and the walking paths are spacious enough to accommodate strollers. The staff at the ticket office were very friendly, and a special plus: children get in free on their birthday! We will definitely be back - Hellabrunn will definitely be a permanent part of our family outings.
