avatarLars Sjögrena week agoBerlin Oase offers a great location—just 15 minutes from central Berlin—which makes it a perfect base for sightseeing. The site itself is straightforward and practical: nothing charming or scenic, but it has almost everything you need for a short stay. The toilets were actually better than we expected, clean and in decent condition despite some negative reviews online. The area is paved and the service was friendly. It’s not a place you stay for the atmosphere, but for convenience and access to the city. As for the surrounding Gesundbrunnen area—our experience was mixed. On the plus side, it’s lively, multicultural, and close to transport, parks, and shops. But we also noticed it can feel a bit rough around the edges, especially at night. There’s quite a bit of noise, and we saw a strong police presence on a couple of occasions. We never felt really unsafe, but it’s definitely a part of Berlin where you want to stay aware of your surroundings. I gave it 4 stars because it's the only option in central Berlin. Berlin Oase is a convenient stop—best suited for those who value access over ambiance. EDIT: At the checkout I met the older man working at the reception who was extremely rude - saying insults in German thinking I did'nt understand him. Changed number of stars from 4 to 2 because of this.
avatarDavie Crewe3 months agoLocation is fantastic for experiencing Berlin but other than that the impression is that the site owners are content to take your money but offer nothing in return other than indignation and ignorance towards their paying guests. Even though I speak ok German the owner refused to sell us Jettons for the showers, claiming we did not need them and he did not understand us; ok fine with us, as to be honest the facilities are limited and over used by the 150 plus campers who use them. You are better off using your own facilities on board if you have them. A positive is that the gates are closed relatively early at this time of year so site security is good, and the site in April was quiet despite being full. The area surrounding the site is dirty and full of litter, not what you would expect from a major capital. Not the fault of the owner but of the local municipality. There is an edge to the area at night, we never felt intimidated but there are a lot of Wolt riders congregating close by and they do overcrowd the pavement areas. Top tip is if you want to use a decent loo there are 2 hotels next door who have facilities you can use as long as you are buying a coffee or tea. Would I return here? Probably not, I would stay out in Potsdam and get the train in.
avatarAsli Baysallia month ago1 star for the location of the camping; very central in a big city. We were able to cycle to several parts of Berlin with ease. And 1 star for the start and stop buttons in the showers. This way you don't have to keep the water running. Here are the downsides: 1 kitchen sink in such a big campsite is unacceptable, especially so if this sink doesn't have hot water AND if it's right next to the toilet dumping hole! One thing that is immoral and totally unacceptable is not reimbursing for the unused shower tokens! As we were checking out this morning, the man at the reception said "you keep it with you and we don't pay you back for it". It's not like we come to Berlin every weekend 🫤 Luckily for me, I "sold" it to the gentleman who was checking in.

Where are we?
