Description

The Great Canary Telescope is one of the largest optical-infrared telescopes in the world, located 2267 meters above sea level on the island of La Palma.

Its segmented 10.4-meter diameter mirror allows observation of the most distant galaxies and confirmation of the existence of black holes.

Since its initial launch in 2007 and official opening in 2009, the telescope has contributed significantly to many astronomical discoveries, including confirmation of the accelerated expansion of the universe.

It is a unique place for astronomy and science enthusiasts.
