Description
National Trust - Wicken Fen Nature Reserve is one of the last undrained marshlands in eastern England, offering a unique glimpse of the landscape that once covered the region's vast lowlands.
The reserve is home to more than 9,000 species, including rare plants, birds and dragonflies. In spring you'll hear bitterns and cuckoos, in summer you'll see rare orchids, and in winter you can look out for harriers and owls.
Explore a historic wind pump and an ancient peat bog. Use the footbridge system that allows you to explore the wetlands without getting your feet wet, and enjoy panoramic views of the entire reserve from the View Tower.
