NATTHA PODOK4 weeks agoI had a good experience at Holy Carrot London overall. The food had a nice combination of herbs and spices, and the texture of the vegetables was really well done. Presentation-wise, everything looked beautiful, though I did feel that the dishes were a bit too oily—more than necessary in some cases. The price is definitely on the higher end, but I think it's worth the experience, as you can tell there's a lot of work and intention behind each plate. I especially loved their creative use of whole vegetables and commitment to zero-waste cooking, like incorporating watermelon rind into a dish. The location is easy to access, right in the heart of Portobello Market, and the restaurant has a lovely ambiance—modern, stylish, with a beautiful open kitchen that adds to the atmosphere. The only downside for me was the service. Food came out quite slowly, and with only three staff members running the floor, we ended up waiting a long time for the bill. I also felt that the servers could be more mindful in how they communicate with customers—some wording came across a bit impolite in certain moments.

The service was friendly, pleasant and quick. I definitely recommend this restaurant as a high end vegan cuisine experience in London!
r ia month agoStarters and small plates were truly excellent — simple and full of natural flavour.
Large dishes weren’t bad, but felt disappointing in comparison. All four of us found them overly salty and sweet, which overshadowed other flavours. That said, the textures and presentation were quite nice. Desserts were fine — we’d recommend the sorbet and rice pudding.
Service was friendly but slow and inattentive. We were served a dirty glass, waited over 25 minutes for desserts, and had to wait long periods just to get the staff’s attention. When the desserts finally arrived, they forgot the spoons.
Overall, it’s an okay experience, but rather underwhelming for the price. Worth trying once, but I probably wouldn’t return.Related categories
