Description

Knepp Castle is a fascinating 12th century monument that combines history with a modern wildlife restoration project. The medieval ruins with an 11-meter-high Horsham sandstone wall stand as a testament to the turbulent times of King John the Landless.

Today, the estate is famous for its pioneering 'rewilding' project, which has restored natural ecosystems and rare species such as turtle doves and nightingales. The 16 miles of trails offer wildlife viewing from five viewing platforms.

Accommodations in bell tents, yurts or tree houses, as well as nature safaris, make it an ideal destination for history and nature lovers.
