Hermit's Cave

Hermit's Cave is a mysterious place with a history dating back to 1790, created as part of the 'scenic' movement. This octagonal structure with an arched entrance offers a dramatic view of Acharn Falls. A long, dark stone tunnel leads to the viewing platform, creating an element of surprise and mystery.

The interior of the cave was once decorated in fancy ways - seats covered with wild animal skins, walls covered with moss and shells. Despite changes after a storm in the 1950s, the place has retained its charm and remains a fascinating spot along the Rob Roy Way.
