Description
Craig Phadrig is a fascinating hilltop fort dating back to the Iron Age that towers over Inverness, Scotland. The origins of its construction date back to around 300 BC.
The site was an important Pictish tribal center, and excavations have revealed traces of metallurgy and French pottery dating back to the 7th century. An interesting aspect of the fort is the vitrification process, in which the stone walls were partially melted at high temperatures.
From this strategic point, there are breathtaking views of the Beauly Firth and surrounding countryside - an ideal place for history and nature lovers.
