National Trust - Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows

National Trust - Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows is the last operating water mill on the Great Ouse River with a history of more than 1,000 years. Rescued by local residents in the 17th century, this historic site still produces flour using a traditional water wheel.

See milling demonstrations and learn about the fascinating history of the mill, which was a regional powerhouse in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The surrounding scenic Waterclose Meadows offer excellent walking, biking and boating exploration. A nearby campsite allows you to enjoy the charms of this unique place for longer.
