Description
Watzmann Südspitze is one of the three main peaks of the Watzmann massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps, rising to 2712 meters above sea level.
It is a challenge for experienced climbers, offering via ferrata routes and breathtaking views of the largest eastern wall in the Eastern Alps.
According to legend, the massif was created when the cruel King Waze and his family were turned to stone after they trampled a peasant family. The route requires good physical fitness and proper equipment, but the reward is unforgettable panoramas of Berchtesgaden National Park.
