Description
The Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi is a true architectural gem, designed by Filippo Juvarra as a royal hunting lodge for Victor Amadeus II, King of Sardinia. This UNESCO-listed monument impresses with its unique oval Central Hall with a dome shaped like an upturned boat.
The interiors are decorated with rococo decorations, mirrors and exotic elements, as well as hunting frescoes done in the trompe l'oeil technique by Domenico and Giuseppe Valeriani. The complex encompasses as many as 137 rooms and 17 galleries, surrounded by an extensive park and green areas - an ideal place for lovers of history, architecture and nature.
