Description
Necropoli etrusca dei Marmini is a fascinating archaeological monument located near the historic center of Volterra in Tuscany.
This Etruscan necropolis dates back to the Hellenistic period and is distinguished by its simple tombs carved into the ground. Despite the lack of ornate decorations, the site is of great historical significance.
The Etruscans believed in life after death, which is why they buried their dead along with objects of daily use. Many finds from the site can be admired at the Guarnacci Museum in Voltera, which contains an impressive collection of Etruscan urns and sarcophagi.
