Inspiration Point

Inspiration Point is a picturesque viewpoint in the Presidio, offering panoramic views of Alcatraz, Angel Island, and the Palace of Fine Arts. The site features rare serpentine meadows—the world's most endangered plant community, which has been restored since the 1990s.

This is where the Ecology Trail begins, leading through the Tennessee Hollow watershed, where you can admire native plants and birds. Nearby is Andy Goldsworthy's sculpture 'Spire' - a natural 'tower' resembling redwood trees.
