Description
Honolulu City Hall (Honolulu Hale) is an architectural gem in the 1920s Italianate-Spanish style. The building impresses with its red roof, ornate balconies and arched windows that give it a unique character.
The interior hides real treasures - frescoes by Einar Peterson and artful stonework by Mario Valdastri. The courtyard, staircase and open ceiling were designed on the model of Florence's Bargello.
It is not only the seat of the city government, but also an important cultural and historical landmark that is a great start to exploring downtown Honolulu.
