The Narrows

The Narrows is a spectacular gorge in Zion National Park, where the Virgin River squeezes between sandstone walls rising more than 800 meters.

This remarkable site offers two hiking options - an easier 5.8 km 'from the bottom' route ideal for families and a more challenging 26 km hike 'from the top'.

Be prepared to wade in the river and admire the amazing rock formations. Be sure to wear proper waterproof footwear and check the weather forecast before setting out - sudden floods are a common occurrence here!
