Description
Hamtramck Disneyland is a unique folk art installation created by Dmytro Szylak, a retired car factory worker of Ukrainian-American descent. This fantasy world on the roofs of two neighboring houses was created over 30 years, starting in 1992.
The installation delights in a carnival theme with carousels, airplanes, toys, rockets, propellers, soldiers and Christmas decorations. It combines elements of light, movement and sound to create a dynamic and immersive display.
This unusual combination of American culture and the artist's European roots attracts art lovers from all over the world.
