Description
St. Andrew's Cathedral is a remarkable example of neo-Gothic architecture in the heart of Honolulu. Built of lava and coral, it combines European style with Hawaiian materials to create a unique composition.
Founded by King Kamehameha V in 1867 to commemorate his brother, who died on St. Andrew's Day, the cathedral has royal roots.
The stone altar, pulpit and lectern made of stone from Normandy add to the unique character of the place. It is an excellent destination for lovers of history, architecture and spirituality.
