Description
Fourth Presbyterian Church is a historic church combining English and French Gothic styles. Built in 1914 of Bedford limestone, it impresses with unique carvings under the balconies and in the armrests of the preachers' seats - you'll find a bee hive, a turtle, a grape and a frog!
As the oldest building north of the river on the Magnificent Mile (after the 1869 Old Water Tower complex), the church survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Its rich history and unique architecture attract both worshippers and history buffs.
