Dan Ryan Woods

Dan Ryan Woods is a 257-acre green paradise on Chicago's South Side. This urban forest offers unique experiences year-round - in the winter it turns into a winter sports paradise with excellent sledding and skiing trails.

In summer, it impresses with its dense greenery, walking and biking paths and picnic areas. Being one of the highest natural points in the city, the forest is home to a wide variety of bird species, including migrating pink-cheeked peahens and scarlet tanagers.
