Description
Channahon State Park is a unique place where the DuPage, Des Plaines and Kankakee rivers meet - the park's name in Indian means just 'meeting of the waters'.
Established in 1932, it is the official start of the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail. History buffs will appreciate the opportunity to tour the original Locks 6 and 7 and the lock keeper's house.
The park offers scenic biking and hiking trails, excellent fishing, picnicking and kayaking spots. It's the perfect place for families and outdoor activity enthusiasts, where history meets nature.
