Ridge Park Wetlands Natural Area

Ridge Park Wetlands Natural Area is a unique one-acre wilderness area in the heart of Chicago. This natural wetland provides a true oasis of tranquility and habitat for local wildlife.

A wooden footbridge and bark-strewn paths allow you to explore this unique ecosystem, which is fed by water seeping from a hill on the west side.

The area was saved from destruction in 1992 thanks to the efforts of the local community, making it not only a place for relaxation, but also a living testament to effective environmental protection efforts.
