North Pond Natural Area

North Pond Natural Area is a 15-acre wildlife sanctuary in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park. This unique area combines a variety of ecosystems: aquatic, wetland and prairie, creating a home for many species of birds, mammals and insects.

After a comprehensive renovation, which included dredging the pond and planting native plants, the site has become a true oasis of biodiversity.

An observation platform offers a breathtaking view of downtown Chicago, while paved and gravel paths around the pond allow for a leisurely stroll among nature. Special fly fishing platforms are available for anglers.
