Beaubien Woods

Beaubien Woods is a 279-acre forest preserve on Chicago's South Side, offering a diverse ecosystem of grasslands, forests and wetlands.

The centerpiece of the reserve is the 19-acre Flatfoot Lake, an ideal fishing spot with an accessible barrier-free pier. The area boasts more than 100-year-old oak trees that form the foundation of local ecosystems.

A variety of wildlife can be observed here, including herons, ospreys, deer and coyotes. The preserve also offers picnic areas and opportunities to participate in ecological restoration efforts.
