Description

San Andres National Wildlife Refuge is a unique wildlife refuge located in the mountains of south-central New Mexico, encompassing more than 57,000 acres of diverse Chihuahuan Desert ecosystems.

It is a true nature lover's paradise, offering opportunities to observe desert bighorn sheep, mule deer, bears, cougars and countless species of migratory birds.

Established in 1941, the refuge serves as a natural research laboratory and conservation site for endangered species. The diverse landscapes, from desert grasslands to juniper-pine forests, create a picturesque setting ideal for hiking and nature photography.
