Description
Pammel State Park is one of the oldest state parks in Iowa, established in 1928. Its landmark is an impressive limestone ridge known as the 'spine', rising more than 30 meters high.
The park is famous for its historic Harmon Tunnel, originally excavated in 1858, which is now a unique attraction. Nature lovers will appreciate the diversity of forest vegetation and some of the oldest oak trees in the state.
A modern campground with 36 sites with electricity and water and 5 tent-only sites provides a comfortable getaway in nature.
