Orilla Verde Recreation Area

Orilla Verde Recreation Area is a scenic recreation area located along the banks of the Rio Grande, in the deep canyon of the Rio Grande Gorge. This natural paradise offers breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding Taos Plateau and Sangre de Cristo mountains.

Here you can enjoy numerous hiking trails of varying levels of difficulty, observe wildlife (eagles, hawks, beavers or mule deer) or pitch a tent in one of seven campgrounds equipped with tables, grills and toilets.
