Description
The Pearl Harbor National Memorial is a place full of history and reverie, commemorating the tragic events of December 7, 1941, when a Japanese attack on the naval base claimed the lives of 2,390 Americans and dragged the US into World War II.
The heart of the memorial is the USS Arizona monument, built over the sunken ship, with a marble wall containing the names of the fallen sailors. Two exhibition galleries display personal memorabilia, dramatic photographs and artifacts from the battle.
Strolling through the waterfront park, visitors can enjoy the view of the memorial and be transported back in time to that tragic day through interactive exhibits.
