Description
Field's Point is a historic site in Providence, offering an unusual combination of maritime heritage and tranquil coastal beauty. Named after colonist Thomas Field, who built a home here in the 1600s, the site has a rich history - from the farm to the war effort.
From its vantage point atop the Revolutionary War-era fort, the view of Narragansett Bay and Providence Harbor is magnificent. Restored in 1937 by the WPA, the park now offers walking paths, children's play areas and a toboggan slide, combining educational and recreational values.
