Description
The Heidelberg Project is a remarkable outdoor artwork created by Tyree Guyton in 1986. This artistic project transformed an ordinary street in Detroit into a vibrantly colorful gallery, where houses are covered with brightly colored dots and decorated with everyday objects.
It is not only art, but also a manifesto against the degradation of the neighborhood after the 1967 riots. The project engages the local community, especially children, offering them a creative space to express themselves.
The space attracts more than 275,000 visitors annually, becoming one of Detroit's top cultural attractions.
