Fountain of Time - George Washington Park

Fountain of Time - George Washington Park is a monumental allegorical sculpture created by Lorado Taft. This impressive 126-foot structure depicts 100 human figures symbolizing the cycle of life - from infants to old people.

It was created to commemorate 100 years of peace following the War of 1812 between the United States and England. It is one of the first large-scale concrete sculptures in the world, with a hollow interior designed to reduce weight.

Its symbolism, inspired by Henry Austin Dobson's poem 'The Paradox of Time,' prompts reflection on transience and the human experience.
