Description
The National Trust - Rievaulx Terrace is a magnificent 18th century landscaped garden located in North Yorkshire. As you walk around the terrace, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey.
The site is famous for its two exceptional temples, the Doric and Ionic, which are excellent examples of English garden architecture. The Ionic Temple impresses with its richly decorated ceiling paintings and an exhibition on the 18th-century art of landscape design.
The woods surrounding the grounds and a meadow full of wildflowers create a picturesque setting, ideal for relaxing walks and outdoor picnics.
