Description
National Trust - Cissbury Ring is the largest hilltop fort in Sussex, with a history dating back 5,000 years.
This unique site combines the fascinating history of the Neolithic and Iron Age with the beauty of the natural landscape. From its summit, there are spectacular views reaching as far as the chalk cliffs beyond Brighton and the Isle of Wight.
The area is famous for its rare butterfly species, including the Chalkhill Blue and Adonis Blue, and diverse natural habitats. Numerous footpaths of varying difficulty allow you to explore both the remains of ancient flint mines and enchanting corners of nature.
