Description
Peel Park is Bradford's first public park, established in 1853 as a tribute to Sir Robert Peel. This 22.6-hectare Victorian gem combines historical heritage with modern attractions.
The park's main axis is The Terrace, an avenue decorated with three historic 19th-century statues, including a central figure of Sir Robert Peel. Architecture enthusiasts will appreciate the ornate bridge from 1857 and the viewing platform with a panorama of Bradford and the Aire Valley.
For the active: Bradford Bandits BMX track, skatepark, tennis courts, and sports fields. Families will find two playgrounds suitable for different age groups, including one designed for people with disabilities. The park also has a small lake, a flower garden, and free exercise equipment.
