Bisham Woods

Bisham Woods is a scenic 155-acre woodland located on a hill above the Thames River. The site is enthralling with a rich history dating back to the 13th century, when it belonged to the Knights Templar and was later the site of Queen Elizabeth I's rides.

The forest is famous as the inspiration for the classic novel 'The Wind Among the Willows' by Kenneth Grahame. Explore unique walking trails, admire rare specimens of flora and fauna and a historic 18th century icehouse.
