Description
The Queen Victoria Memorial is a unique bronze sculpture located in Warrior Square in St Leonards-on-Sea. Designed by the Queen's private sculptor, Francis John Williamson, it was unveiled in 1902 after the monarch's death.
The statue is more than 2 meters high and stands on a granite pedestal. A curiosity is the prominent bullet mark in the Queen's robe - a souvenir from an air raid during World War II - which has been preserved as part of the historic legacy.
This Grade II listed monument according to Historic England is an important landmark for history and architecture enthusiasts.
