Description
National Trust - Figsbury Ring is a fascinating archaeological monument combining Neolithic henge and iron hill fort.
This unique site offers an extraordinary journey back in time - from the Neolithic to the Iron Age. The site is famous for its rich flora and fauna, being home to wild orchids and Adonis butterflies.
It is interesting to note the mention of Figsbury Ring in E.M. Forster's 1907 novel 'The Longest Journey', where the site was renamed Cadbury Rings. A Bronze Age sword discovered here in 1704 can be admired at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
